Account & Data Deletion
Last updated: July 18, 2026
You can delete your Vault Messaging account and its associated data at any time. This page explains how, and what happens when you do.
Delete your account from the app
The fastest way to delete your account is directly in the app:
- Open the Vault Messaging app and make sure you are signed in.
- Go to the Account screen.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm when prompted. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
Request deletion by email
If you can no longer access the app, email us at dev@vault-messaging.com from the email address or with the phone number associated with your account, and ask us to delete it. We may ask you to verify ownership of the account before proceeding. We will complete verified deletion requests within 30 days.
What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:
- Your account and authentication identifier (phone number or email).
- The messages you have created, including any text, audio, image, and video content.
- Recipient details and scheduling information tied to your account.
What may be retained
We may retain a limited amount of information where required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements — for example, records of purchases required for financial and tax purposes. Any retained information is kept only as long as necessary for those purposes. Anonymized or aggregated analytics that no longer identify you may also be retained.
Note that a message you have already sent and that has been opened by a recipient may remain in that recipient’s account, as it is now their copy.
